Question 1

Which Volkswagen SUV has seven seats?

Accepted Answer

The Tiguan Allspace, a longer version of the Tiguan, offers a third row that suits children or short trips, as does the Tayron that replaced it. The regular Tiguan, the T-Roc and the Touareg are five-seaters.

Question 2

Do I need a 4MOTION Volkswagen SUV in Portugal?

Accepted Answer

Rarely: front-wheel drive copes with most Portuguese roads, and 4MOTION adds weight and fuel use. It helps on steep unmade tracks or when towing; if you buy one, ask whether the all-wheel-drive coupling oil has been changed as the service schedule requires.

Question 3

Is a used Volkswagen Tiguan eHybrid a good idea?

Accepted Answer

It makes sense if you can charge at home or at work and mostly drive short distances on electricity; run on petrol alone, it carries the weight of its battery for nothing. Ask for the battery's state of health and check that both charging and electric mode work.

Question 4

What sets the Volkswagen T-Roc apart from the T-Cross?

Accepted Answer

The T-Roc is the larger of the two, built on the Golf's platform, and was also sold as a two-door cabriolet; the T-Cross is based on the Polo and has a sliding rear bench. Both mostly have 1.0 and 1.5 TSI petrol engines, with TDI diesels in some versions.

Question 5

How is IUC worked out for a Volkswagen SUV?

Accepted Answer

For cars registered since July 2007, the annual IUC depends on engine size and CO2 emissions, so a Touareg pays far more than a T-Cross. Fully electric models such as the ID.4 are exempt.
