Question 1

Is a Porsche Approved car worth the premium?

Accepted Answer

Porsche Approved cars pass a detailed inspection at a Porsche Centre and are sold with a warranty backed by the manufacturer. On a car whose repairs can run high, that cover often decides between buying from a dealer and buying privately.

Question 2

Why is the carte grise so expensive for a Porsche?

Accepted Answer

The French registration fee is charged per fiscal horsepower (cheval fiscal), at a rate each region sets. Powerful engines carry many fiscal horsepower, so registering a 911 or Cayenne costs far more than an ordinary car. Electric models such as the Taycan pay less or nothing, depending on the region.

Question 3

What should I check on a used Porsche Taycan?

Accepted Answer

Ask for a battery state-of-health report and confirm which charging equipment comes with the car. Check which onboard charger is fitted too, since it sets how fast the car charges on AC.

Question 4

Can a Porsche enter the low-emission zones?

Accepted Answer

Access depends on the Crit'Air sticker, which follows the fuel and Euro standard rather than the make. Recent petrol Porsches get Crit'Air 1, diesels Crit'Air 2 at best, and the Taycan the green electric sticker.
