What problems does the Opel Corsa 1.3 CDTI engine have?

The timing chain can stretch, especially with long oil-change intervals, and the EGR valve and turbo build up deposits. On more recent Corsas, the particulate filter suffers in town-only use.

Is a diesel Opel Corsa worth it for town driving?

Rarely: in a car this small, the fuel saving only pays off with high annual mileage. In urban use the particulate filter clogs, and a petrol Corsa is cheaper to keep.

Does a diesel Opel Corsa pay more IUC in Portugal?

Yes: on top of the tax based on engine size and CO2 emissions, diesel passenger cars pay an additional IUC charge. On a low-emission Corsa 1.3 CDTI, the annual difference is small.
