Question 1

Which Corsa generation is which?

Accepted Answer

The Corsa D was built from 2006 to 2014 and the Corsa E from 2014 to 2019. The current Corsa F arrived in 2019 on the same platform as the Peugeot 208, bringing new engines and an electric version.

Question 2

What should I check on a Corsa F 1.2 petrol?

Accepted Answer

Its timing belt runs in engine oil and wears faster if the wrong oil is used or changes are skipped. Ask for invoices showing the correct oil and when the belt was inspected or replaced.

Question 3

Does an electric Corsa-e pay road tax?

Accepted Answer

No. Fully electric cars are exempt from IUC in Portugal, and an imported one is also exempt from ISV. Check the battery's state of health and that the charging cable comes with the car.

Question 4

Are Corsa parts and repairs expensive?

Accepted Answer

Generally not. The Corsa has sold in large numbers for decades, so parts are easy to find and most independent garages know it well.
