Question 1

Does the Kia warranty pass to a second owner?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Kia's seven-year or 150,000 km warranty belongs to the car rather than the first buyer, so it runs on until the time or mileage limit is reached. It depends on servicing to Kia's schedule, so check the service book.

Question 2

Is the Stonic available with four-wheel drive?

Accepted Answer

No, every Stonic is front-wheel drive. The raised seating position and slightly higher ground clearance help on dirt tracks, but it is not an off-roader.

Question 3

What does mild hybrid mean on a Stonic?

Accepted Answer

A 48-volt system helps the 1.0 T-GDi pull away and recovers energy under braking. The Stonic cannot drive on electricity alone and never needs plugging in.

Question 4

Kia Stonic: petrol or diesel?

Accepted Answer

Most Stonics are petrol; the 1.6 CRDi diesel was only offered in the early years. For mainly urban driving petrol suits it better, and the small engine keeps the IUC low.
