Which is the best petrol engine for the Kia Stonic?

For mixed driving the 1.0 T-GDi is the most balanced, and the 48V mild hybrid version uses less fuel in town. The non-turbo 1.25 is slower but has fewer components to go wrong.

Does the Kia Stonic mild hybrid need charging?

No, the 48V system charges its small battery by itself under braking and deceleration. It helps the engine when pulling away and lets it switch off more often, but the Stonic cannot run on electric power alone.

Which gearboxes does the petrol Kia Stonic have?

The petrol Stonic comes with a manual gearbox, the iMT with an electronically operated clutch on mild hybrid versions, and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic on the 1.0 T-GDi. Every version is front-wheel drive.

From €9,999 to €24,990, half under €17,490 · Typically 2025 with 27,128 km. Since its 2020 facelift the Stonic has had no diesel, relying instead on the 1.0 T-GDi with a 48V mild hybrid system. Earlier cars pair that turbo, still without hybrid assistance, with the non-turbo 1.25 and 1.4, which are simpler to maintain.
