Question 1

What is the difference between the Audi A5 Coupé and Sportback?

Accepted Answer

The Coupé has two doors and a conventional boot lid, while the Sportback has four doors and a large tailgate, so it carries a family and luggage more easily. Both share engines and running gear.

Question 2

Is the Audi A5 still a coupé?

Accepted Answer

Not in its latest form. The A5 launched in 2024 replaces the A4 and comes as a Sportback and an Avant estate, with no coupé or cabriolet; those exist only in the earlier generations.

Question 3

What should I check on a used Audi A5 Cabriolet?

Accepted Answer

Open and close the fabric roof several times and look for slow movement, warning lights or damp in the cabin and boot, which point to worn seals or blocked drains. Roof repairs can be costly.

Question 4

Are the S5 and RS 5 versions of the Audi A5 costly to run in Portugal?

Accepted Answer

Their larger engines mean a higher IUC each year than a four-cylinder A5, and an imported example pays a substantial ISV because of its engine size and CO2 emissions. Brakes and tyres cost more too.
