Question 1

What changed on the C4 Cactus with the 2018 facelift?

Accepted Answer

The facelifted C4 Cactus lost most of its side Airbumps, gained a more conventional front and took on Advanced Comfort suspension with hydraulic stops for a softer ride. It also picked up more driver aids, while the engines stayed largely the same.

Question 2

Do the rear windows of the C4 Cactus open?

Accepted Answer

The C4 Cactus's rear side windows do not wind down; they only pop out a little on a hinge. It saves weight, but it matters if you carry children or a dog in the back on hot days.

Question 3

What should I know about the PureTech timing belt in the C4 Cactus?

Accepted Answer

The 1.2 PureTech three-cylinder uses a belt that runs in engine oil, and on some engines it has broken down early and clogged the oil system. Ask for a record of its inspection or replacement, and whether the correct oil grade was used.

Question 4

Is a C4 Cactus cheap to tax in Portugal?

Accepted Answer

With small engines and low CO2 emissions, it usually falls in the lower IUC bands. The exact amount depends on engine size, emissions and registration date, and can be checked on the Portal das Finanças.
