Question 1

Is the DS 7 Crossback a different car from the DS 7?

Accepted Answer

No, it is the same model. The Crossback name was dropped with the 2022 update, which brought a new front end and a revised engine range.

Question 2

Is the DS 7 E-Tense plug-in hybrid a good used buy?

Accepted Answer

It makes sense if you can charge at home or at work and cover most short trips on electricity. Run on fuel alone it is heavier and thirstier than the diesel. Check that the charging cable comes with the car and ask how much battery warranty remains.

Question 3

Are parts and servicing easy to find for a DS 7?

Accepted Answer

The DS 7 shares its platform and much of its mechanics with the Peugeot 3008 and other Stellantis models, so parts are widely available and many workshops know it. Trim and body parts unique to DS can take longer to source.

Question 4

What should I test on a high-spec DS 7?

Accepted Answer

Upper versions carry a lot of electronics, including camera-based active suspension on some cars and large digital displays. Make sure every screen, camera and driver aid works, as faults there are costly to fix out of warranty.
