Question 1

What should I check on a 2022 Peugeot 208's PureTech engine?

Accepted Answer

The 1.2 PureTech uses a timing belt that runs in oil, and its premature wear is a known problem. Ask for proof that the belt has been inspected or replaced on schedule; Stellantis has extended its cover on these engines subject to a regular service history.

Question 2

Does a 2022 Peugeot 208 need a contrôle technique?

Accepted Answer

The first contrôle technique is due before the fourth anniversary of first registration, so 2022 cars come up for it during 2026. Once a car is over four years old, the seller must hand over a report less than six months old.

Question 3

What should I know about a 2022 Peugeot e-208's battery?

Accepted Answer

The 2022 e-208 has a 50 kWh battery and a 136 hp motor; range drops noticeably in cold weather and at motorway speeds. Peugeot covers the battery for eight years or 160,000 km against heavy loss of capacity, so check the date of first registration.

Question 4

Does the 2022 Peugeot 208's i-Cockpit suit every driver?

Accepted Answer

The 208 places its instruments above a small steering wheel, which can hide the dials for some drivers depending on seat height. Sit in the car and adjust the seat and wheel before buying.

Question 5

Which Crit'Air sticker does a 2022 Peugeot 208 get?

Accepted Answer

Petrol versions get Crit'Air 1, the BlueHDi diesel Crit'Air 2 and the e-208 the green zero-emission sticker. The sticker decides access to low-emission zones in the cities that enforce them.
