Is the Fiat Tipo saloon a good used family car?

It offers a lot of cabin and boot space for the money and uses well-proven engines. The trade-offs are plain interior materials and few driver aids on early versions.

Which engine suits a used Fiat Tipo saloon?

The 1.4 petrol suits low annual mileage and town use, while the 1.3 and 1.6 MultiJet diesels suit long runs. Some versions pair a 1.6 petrol with a conventional automatic, the smoothest choice in traffic.

What should I check on an older Fiat Linea?

Look for a full service history, check the clutch, and on Dualogic versions test the robotised gearbox in traffic. On a diesel, ask whether the particulate filter has caused trouble.
