Actions

Should I buy an Audi A6 saloon, Avant or allroad?

The saloon is the classic executive car, while the Avant adds a large estate boot. The allroad sits higher, always has quattro drive and wears extra cladding for rough tracks.

Should I avoid the Multitronic gearbox on an Audi A6?

The Multitronic CVT fitted to some front-wheel-drive A6s before 2018 has a mixed record. Feel for judder when pulling away and ask whether its fluid has been changed; quattro cars use a torque-converter automatic or S tronic instead.

Which Crit'Air sticker does a diesel Audi A6 get?

A diesel meeting Euro 5 or Euro 6 carries Crit'Air 2, and older diesels Crit'Air 3. Petrols from Euro 5, mild hybrids and the plug-in hybrid get Crit'Air 1.

What should I check on an Audi A6 55 TFSI e plug-in?

Ask to see the charging cable and charge the car once during the viewing. Electric range falls as the battery ages, and a full charge shows how much of it remains.
