What is the difference between the Opel Astra Sports Tourer J and K?

The Astra K Sports Tourer is lighter, more efficient and has a more modern interior than the J. The J makes up for it with well-known mechanicals and parts that are easy to find.

What should I check on a used Opel Astra estate?

The gas struts on the tailgate, the condition of the boot floor and the rear suspension, which on an ex-fleet estate has carried a lot of weight. A worn tow bar also says a good deal about the car's life.

Does an Opel Astra estate pay more IUC than the hatchback?

No, the IUC on a passenger car depends on displacement, CO2 emissions and fuel, not the body. With the same engine, the estate and the hatchback pay the same.
