Question 1

What separates the E-Tech hybrid from the plug-in?

Accepted Answer

The full hybrid recharges its small battery on the move and covers short distances on electricity. The plug-in has a larger battery charged from the mains and can often do a daily commute electrically, which only pays off if you can charge regularly.

Question 2

How does the Captur E-Tech hybrid gearbox feel?

Accepted Answer

It is an automatic with no clutch, using dog clutches and electric motors to change ratios. Shifts feel different from a conventional automatic, so a test drive in town and on a faster road is worthwhile.

Question 3

Is a used Captur hybrid's battery still under warranty?

Accepted Answer

Renault covers the traction battery with its own warranty, longer than the one on the rest of the car. Check its start date and mileage limit against the car's history to see whether cover remains.

Question 4

Which Crit'Air sticker does a Captur hybrid get?

Accepted Answer

Every hybrid version runs on petrol and carries the Crit'Air 1 sticker. They are accepted in the low-emission zones of French cities that restrict older cars.
