Question 1

Is a 2023 Captur the old or the new design?

Accepted Answer

It is the second-generation Captur introduced in 2019, before the facelift Renault revealed in 2024 with a new front end and an updated cabin. Mechanically the two are close, so a 2023 car shares most parts and engines with later ones.

Question 2

Which engine suits a 2023 Captur?

Accepted Answer

The TCe petrol suits mixed driving and is the simplest to own, the LPG bi-fuel version runs cheaply on autogas where stations are close, and the E-Tech hybrid saves most fuel in town traffic. Test the hybrid on a drive, since its multi-mode gearbox feels different from a conventional automatic.

Question 3

Does a 2023 Captur need a contrôle technique to be sold?

Accepted Answer

Only once it is four years old: the first contrôle technique is due on the fourth anniversary of first registration, and from then on a sale needs a report less than six months old. Before that, the seller hands over the certificat d'immatriculation with the transfer paperwork.

Question 4

Which Crit'Air sticker does a 2023 Captur get?

Accepted Answer

A petrol, LPG or hybrid Captur first registered in 2023 meets Euro 6 and qualifies for Crit'Air 1, which gives access to the low-emission zones of French cities.
