Question 1

What changed between the first and second Nissan Juke?

Accepted Answer

The second generation, launched in 2019, is longer, with more rear space and a bigger boot, and moved to the platform of the Renault Clio and Captur. It dropped the diesel and four-wheel drive, keeping a three-cylinder petrol and later adding a hybrid.

Question 2

Is there a diesel Juke?

Accepted Answer

Only in the first generation, with the 1.5 dCi. Depending on its Euro standard it carries a Crit'Air 2 or 3 sticker, which already keeps it out of some low-emission zones at certain times.

Question 3

How does the Juke Hybrid work?

Accepted Answer

It is a full hybrid using Renault's E-Tech system and charges itself on the move, so it never needs plugging in. As a petrol hybrid it qualifies for the Crit'Air 1 sticker.

Question 4

What should I check on an automatic first-generation Juke?

Accepted Answer

First-generation automatics use a CVT, so make sure it pulls smoothly without judder or whine and ask whether its fluid has been changed. The second-generation petrol uses a dual-clutch automatic instead.
