Is it worth buying a used BMW in Belgium to register in the Nord?

It can be, but it takes extra steps: a quitus fiscal from the French tax office and a certificate of conformity for the certificat d'immatriculation. A BMW bought in the Nord already has a French carte grise.

How much is the carte grise for a used BMW in the Nord?

It is the car's fiscal horsepower multiplied by the Hauts-de-France region's rate, plus fixed fees. On a powerful BMW the fiscal horsepower makes it a noticeable cost.

What contrôle technique does a used BMW sold in the Nord need?

If the BMW is over four years old, the seller must provide a contrôle technique less than six months old. A fresh one can be done at any approved centre, from Lille to Maubeuge.
