Question 1

Which Tiguan has the best DGT label?

Accepted Answer

The plug-in eHybrid, offered from 2020, qualifies for the zero-emissions label thanks to its electric range. Petrol and diesel Tiguans from the second generation onwards carry the C label, while most first-generation diesels have only the B.

Question 2

What is the Tiguan Allspace?

Accepted Answer

It is a longer version of the second-generation Tiguan, introduced in 2017, with a bigger boot and an optional third row of seats. It suits families who occasionally need seven seats without moving up to a larger SUV.

Question 3

What should I check on a first-generation Tiguan?

Accepted Answer

Early 1.4 TSI petrol engines are known for timing chain stretch, so listen for a rattle at cold start. On 2.0 TDI diesels from before 2016, confirm that the software update from Volkswagen's emissions recall has been carried out.

Question 4

Is a 4Motion Tiguan worth it in Spain?

Accepted Answer

All-wheel drive helps on snow, gravel tracks and when towing, but it adds weight and fuel consumption. For mainly urban and motorway use, a front-wheel drive Tiguan is cheaper to run.
