Used Volkswagen Golf with a manual gearbox in Spain

Found 1,825 cars

From €1,100 to €40,900, half under €14,990 · Typically 2018 with 124,500 km. A manual gearbox sidesteps the seven-speed dry-clutch DSG and its mechatronic unit, the best-known weak point of the automatic Golf. On a manual TDI, test the clutch and the dual-mass flywheel, which suffers in stop-start city driving.

Which engines does the manual Volkswagen Golf come with?

The manual Golf was sold with almost the whole TSI petrol and TDI diesel range, with five- or six-speed gearboxes. On the Golf Mk8 the eTSI mild hybrids come only with DSG, so a manual Mk8 is always a conventional TSI or TDI.

What should I check on a manual Volkswagen Golf TDI?

Above all the clutch and the dual-mass flywheel: judder when pulling away or a rattle at idle points to wear. It is also worth confirming that the particulate filter regenerates properly, since short trips clog it.

What tax does a private buyer pay on a used Volkswagen Golf in Spain?

The buyer pays ITP, set by each autonomous community, and registers the change of owner with the DGT. Bought from a dealer, VAT is already in the price and no ITP is due.
