Question 1

Which DGT label does a Suzuki Vitara carry?

Accepted Answer

The mild hybrid and full hybrid versions get the ECO label. Recent petrol and Euro 6 diesel models get the C label, while older off-road generations may have the B label or none, which limits entry to low-emission zones.

Question 2

Is AllGrip all-wheel drive worth having on a Suzuki Vitara?

Accepted Answer

AllGrip adds traction on gravel, snow and wet mountain roads, useful in inland and northern Spain. For town and motorway use, the front-wheel-drive version is lighter and simpler to maintain.

Question 3

What should I check on an older Suzuki Vitara?

Accepted Answer

The early generations have a separate chassis and a low-range gearbox, so inspect the frame and underbody for rust and test that four-wheel drive and low range engage cleanly. Many have been used off-road, which shows in the suspension and underside.

Question 4

Does the hybrid Vitara need plugging in?

Accepted Answer

No. The 48-volt mild hybrid assists the petrol engine but cannot drive on electricity alone, whereas the full hybrid with its automated gearbox covers short stretches electrically. Neither is plugged in, and both carry the ECO label.
