Question 1

Is SsangYong still sold and serviced in Spain?

Accepted Answer

The brand was renamed KGM, for KG Mobility, in 2023 after its takeover by KG Group. KGM dealers service SsangYong-badged cars and supply their parts.

Question 2

Which SsangYong models have real four-wheel drive?

Accepted Answer

The Rexton and the Musso pick-up use a separate chassis and, on most versions, selectable four-wheel drive with low range, which suits towing and rough tracks. The Tivoli and Korando were also offered with four-wheel drive, but most sold are front-wheel drive.

Question 3

Does a SsangYong with LPG get the ECO label?

Accepted Answer

Yes, bi-fuel petrol and LPG versions of the Tivoli and Korando carry the DGT's ECO label, which eases access to low-emission zones. Check that the gas installation appears on the ficha técnica and has passed the ITV.

Question 4

What should I check on a used SsangYong Rexton or Musso?

Accepted Answer

These are often used for towing and off-road work, so look at the tow bar, the underside and the transfer case for signs of hard use. On diesels, make sure the particulate filter has not been removed, as the car would then fail the ITV.
