Was my used Skoda diesel affected by the emissions scandal?

Skodas with the EA189 1.6 and 2.0 TDI engines, built until 2015, were recalled for a software update. Check the car's record with a Skoda dealer to confirm the fix was applied.

Which Skoda TDI engine is the best used buy?

The 2.0 TDI of the EA288 family, fitted from about 2013, is the more modern and frugal choice, and later versions use AdBlue to meet Euro 6. The 1.6 TDI suits the lighter Fabia and Octavia better than the larger models.

Does a diesel Skoda get the C label in Spain?

Only if it meets Euro 6, which in practice means cars registered from about 2015. Older diesel Skodas get the B label and face restrictions in some city low-emission zones.
