Question 1

Which DGT environmental label does a Skoda Karoq carry?

Accepted Answer

The Karoq went on sale after Euro 6 became mandatory, so both petrol and diesel versions get at least the C label. C-labelled cars are admitted to most of Spain's low-emission zones, though each city sets its own rules.

Question 2

How does the Karoq differ from the SEAT Ateca?

Accepted Answer

The two share their platform, engines and gearboxes, so mechanical parts and servicing are largely the same. The Karoq differs in styling and interior, and some cars have VarioFlex rear seats that slide, fold and can be removed.

Question 3

Is a four-wheel-drive Karoq worth it in Spain?

Accepted Answer

Four-wheel drive came mainly with the more powerful engines and was standard on the Scout. For city and coastal driving front-wheel drive is usually enough, while the 4x4 helps on snowy mountain roads and gravel tracks.

Question 4

What tax is due when buying a Karoq from a private seller?

Accepted Answer

A private sale pays the regional transfer tax, ITP, which the buyer settles before the DGT records the change of owner. A sale by a dealer does not pay ITP.
