Question 1

What wear does Seville's heat cause on a used SEAT?

Accepted Answer

Sustained high temperatures age batteries, tyres and rubber seals faster, and can fade paint and crack dashboard plastics on cars parked outdoors. Check that the air conditioning blows cold at idle and that the tyre sidewalls are not cracked, even when the tread looks fine.

Question 2

Does Seville have a low-emission zone that affects a SEAT?

Accepted Answer

Spanish law requires cities of over 50,000 inhabitants, Seville among them, to set up low-emission zones, and the city council decides the areas, hours and labels affected. A SEAT with a C, ECO or zero label is the safer choice for regular trips into the centre.

Question 3

How is a used SEAT's ownership transferred in Seville?

Accepted Answer

The transfer is registered with the DGT, online or at the Jefatura Provincial de Tráfico in Seville. After a private sale the buyer first pays ITP to the Junta de Andalucía's tax agency, while a purchase from a dealer does not pay it.

Question 4

Which SEAT suits Seville's old town?

Accepted Answer

The Ibiza and Arona are the easiest to handle in the narrow streets of the historic centre, while the León and Ateca are better suited to motorway trips to the coast. A garage or covered parking space also slows the sun damage that cars kept in the city suffer.
