Was my SEAT TDI affected by the emissions scandal?

TDI engines of the EA189 family, built until about 2015, were affected and received a software update and, on the 1.6 TDI, a flow straightener. Check with a SEAT dealer, using the VIN, that the recall was carried out.

Which DGT label does a diesel SEAT get?

A Euro 6 diesel SEAT, generally registered from September 2015, gets the C label, and Euro 4 and 5 diesels from 2006 the B label. Older diesels get no label and face the strictest limits in low-emission zones.

Is a diesel SEAT worth it for city driving?

Only with regular longer runs: short urban trips clog a modern TDI's particulate filter and can lead to costly regenerations or replacements. For mainly town use, a TSI or TGI suits a SEAT better.
