Which petrol engine is best in a used SEAT Leon?

The 1.5 TSI, fitted from 2018, is the smoothest all-rounder, with cylinder deactivation to save fuel on light loads. The 1.0 TSI three-cylinder copes well in town, and the 1.4 TSI is a sound choice in older third-generation cars.

Does the SEAT Leon 1.2 TSI have timing chain problems?

Early 1.2 TSI engines, built until around 2012, used a timing chain that could stretch; the later version switched to a belt. Listen for a rattle on a cold start in a second-generation León.

What DGT label does a petrol SEAT Leon get?

A petrol León registered from 2006 onwards meets Euro 4 or later and carries the green C label. The fourth-generation eTSI mild hybrid gets the ECO label instead.
