Is the Renault Clio EDC gearbox reliable?

It is acceptable if maintained, but in heavy town use the EDC's clutches and mechatronics can judder or fail. On a test drive, be wary of jolts pulling away or downshifting and of dashboard warnings.

Which automatic Renault Clio uses the least fuel?

The E-Tech full hybrid, which often runs on electric power in town and never needs plugging in. Its multi-mode gearbox has no conventional clutch, and the car carries the DGT ECO label.

What automatic did the Renault Clio III have?

The Clio III used a conventional four-speed automatic, known for faults and high fuel use. If you want an automatic Clio, the EDC in the Clio IV and V or the E-Tech are more up-to-date choices.
