Question 1

What is Porsche Approved?

Accepted Answer

It is Porsche's own certified used programme: cars sold through official Porsche Centres after an inspection and backed by a Porsche warranty. A privately sold Porsche can still be checked at a Porsche Centre before you buy.

Question 2

Which DGT labels do used Porsches carry?

Accepted Answer

Petrol Porsches registered from 2006 onwards carry the C label, plug-in hybrids the ECO or CERO label depending on electric range, and the Taycan the CERO label. Some older classics have no label at all, which limits their use in Madrid's low-emission zones.

Question 3

What should I check on a used Porsche 911?

Accepted Answer

Ask whether it has been used on track, and look for signs of it on the tyres and brakes. On 996 and early 997 models with the M96 or M97 engine, find out whether the intermediate-shaft bearing has been inspected or replaced with an uprated one.

Question 4

Is a used Taycan a sensible buy in Madrid?

Accepted Answer

It suits drivers who can charge at home or at work, and its CERO label gives unrestricted access to Madrid's low-emission zones. Ask for a battery health report, as the range depends on how the car has been charged and used.
