Question 1

Can I drive a classic 911 in Barcelona?

Accepted Answer

Older petrol cars without a DGT label may not enter the Rondes de Barcelona low-emission zone on weekdays during its operating hours. Some owners qualify for an exemption, for instance by registering the car as a historic vehicle, so check the AMB's current rules before buying.

Question 2

Which label does a plug-in hybrid Porsche get?

Accepted Answer

A plug-in hybrid with at least 40 km of official electric range carries the zero label; one with less carries the ECO label. The figure depends on the model and generation, so check the label on the car's DGT record.

Question 3

Is it better to buy a Porsche from a dealer or privately?

Accepted Answer

A dealer sale includes the paperwork and often a warranty, such as Porsche Approved at official centres, and carries no ITP. A private purchase is registered with the DGT just the same, but the buyer pays ITP to the Generalitat de Catalunya.

Question 4

What should I check before buying a used Porsche in Barcelona?

Accepted Answer

Ask for the service history from an official or specialist workshop and make sure the ITV is current. City use means short trips and tight car parks, so look for kerbed wheels and scraped front spoilers.
