Question 1

How is road tax worked out on a Macan in Spain?

Accepted Answer

Each town hall sets the IVTM by the car's fiscal horsepower, which rises with engine size and cylinder count, so a V6 Macan pays more than a four-cylinder in the same town. Rates differ between municipalities, and whoever owns the car on 1 January pays for the year.

Question 2

Does a Macan imported from Germany pay tax in Spain?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A used car brought in from another EU country pays the impuesto de matriculación before its first Spanish registration, based on its CO2 emissions and a depreciated value, and most Macans fall into the higher bands. A gestor can work out the amount before you buy abroad.

Question 3

What should I check on a Macan's PDK gearbox?

Accepted Answer

The PDK needs its oil changed at the intervals Porsche sets, so look for that in the service history. On the test drive it should pull away smoothly and shift without jolts, and a Porsche Centre can read the stored fault records.

Question 4

Which DGT label does a Macan carry?

Accepted Answer

Petrol Macans get the C label, as do diesels that meet Euro 6, and the electric Macan carries CERO. No combustion Macan was sold as a hybrid, so none carries the ECO label.
