Question 1

Coupé, cabriolet or Targa: which Porsche 911 sports car should I buy?

Accepted Answer

The coupé is the lightest and stiffest, the cabriolet makes the most of Spain's weather, and the Targa combines an open roof with the coupé's silhouette. On a cabriolet, check that the fabric roof and its mechanism work smoothly and do not leak.

Question 2

Is a Porsche 911 Carrera 4 a better sports car than a rear-wheel-drive Carrera?

Accepted Answer

The Carrera 4 has more grip in rain and on cold roads and wider rear bodywork, while the rear-wheel-drive Carrera is lighter and more direct to steer. On mostly dry Spanish roads either works, so the choice is about feel more than safety.

Question 3

How is road tax calculated for a Porsche 911 sports car in Spain?

Accepted Answer

The municipal IVTM is set by fiscal horsepower, so a 911 falls in the highest band, and the exact amount depends on the town hall where it is registered. Buying from a private seller also adds ITP, which a dealer sale does not.
