Is the Peugeot 2008 BlueHDi reliable?

The BlueHDi diesels are economical and durable when driven regularly on longer trips. Their known weak spot is the AdBlue system, whose tank and pump can fail and trigger a warning that the engine will not restart after a set distance.

Which diesel Peugeot 2008 gets the C label?

Diesels meeting Euro 6 get the green C label, which covers every BlueHDi. Early first-generation 2008s with the Euro 5 e-HDi engine carry the yellow B and face more limits in low-emission zones.

Is a diesel Peugeot 2008 right for city driving?

Not really: short urban trips stop the particulate filter from regenerating and dilute the oil. For mostly city use, a petrol PureTech or the electric e-2008 suits better.

From €5,400 to €30,999, half under €13,500 · Typically 2021 with 96,869 km. A diesel 2008 makes sense for long regular drives, where the BlueHDi's economy outweighs the cost of its AdBlue and particulate filter. The second generation's 1.5 BlueHDi meets Euro 6 and earns the C label; early first-generation e-HDi cars only get the B.
