Is the EAT8 gearbox in the Peugeot 2008 reliable?

The EAT8 is an Aisin eight-speed torque-converter automatic with a sound record, smooth in traffic and relaxed on the motorway. Peugeot treats its fluid as filled for life, but changing it helps the gearbox last.

Which Peugeot 2008 engines come with an automatic?

On the second generation, the PureTech 130 and 155 and the BlueHDi 130 came with the EAT8, and the mild hybrid from 2024 with the e-DCS6. The PureTech 100 was a manual only.

Can I drive an automatic Peugeot 2008 with an automatic-only licence?

Yes: in Spain a licence passed in an automatic carries code 78, which limits the holder to cars without a clutch pedal. Every automatic 2008, the electric e-2008 included, qualifies.
