Can an older diesel Opel drive in Barcelona's low-emission zone?

Only with a B label or better: Barcelona's Rondes zone bans cars without a label on weekdays from 7am to 8pm. For a diesel Opel that generally means a registration from 2006 onwards.

Where is ITP paid on a used Opel bought in Barcelona?

In Catalonia, ITP on a private sale is paid to the Agència Tributària de Catalunya before the transfer at the DGT. Buying from a dealer carries VAT instead, so no ITP is due.

Which Opel suits driving in Barcelona?

In the city, a Corsa or Mokka with an ECO or CERO label avoids restrictions and parks easily. For a daily commute from the Vallès or the Maresme, a plug-in Astra or Grandland can cover much of the trip on electricity.
