Question 1

Why is the Mitsubishi Pajero sold as the Montero in Spain?

Accepted Answer

Pajero is vulgar slang in Spanish, so Mitsubishi sells the model here as the Montero. It is the same vehicle underneath, and parts listed for the Pajero fit it.

Question 2

Which DGT label does a Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV carry?

Accepted Answer

Plug-in hybrids with at least 40 km of electric range get the Cero label, which most Outlander and Eclipse Cross PHEVs reach; versions short of that get ECO. The label of a specific car can be checked with its number plate on the DGT website.

Question 3

Are the latest ASX and Colt real Mitsubishis?

Accepted Answer

They are built on the Renault Captur and Clio respectively and use their engines, hybrids included. Their mechanics and maintenance follow the Renault originals rather than older Mitsubishis.

Question 4

What should I check on a used Mitsubishi Montero or L200?

Accepted Answer

On the test drive, engage four-wheel drive and low range and listen for noise from the transfer box and differentials. Look underneath for impact damage and chassis rust, since many have worked on farms or off-road.
