Which petrol MINI engine is most reliable?

The BMW-built 1.5 three-cylinder and 2.0 four-cylinder engines used since 2014 are the more reliable choice. The earlier 1.6, especially in the turbocharged Cooper S of the early years, is known for timing chain rattle and carbon build-up.

What DGT label does a petrol MINI get?

A petrol MINI registered from 2006 onwards gets the C label, which gives access to low-emission zones in Spanish cities. Plug-in hybrid Countryman versions can carry the zero-emission label.

Is a MINI Cooper S expensive to run in Spain?

It uses more fuel than a Cooper, and its tyres and brakes wear faster. The municipal IVTM depends on fiscal horsepower and varies from town to town.
