Which diesel MINI engine is the most reliable?

The BMW-built 1.5 and 2.0 diesels used from 2014 are the sturdier choice. Early diesels, especially the 1.6 shared with Peugeot until 2010, are more prone to injector seal and turbo trouble.

Does a diesel MINI get the C label in Spain?

Only if it meets Euro 6, which in practice means cars registered from about 2015. Older diesel MINIs get the B label and face restrictions in some city low-emission zones.

Is a diesel MINI worth it for city driving?

Rarely, because short trips stop the particulate filter from regenerating and clog it. A diesel MINI makes sense for regular motorway journeys, where it is very economical.
