What documents does a foreigner need to buy a used Mercedes in Málaga?

To register the car in your name at the DGT you need an NIE and proof of an address in Spain. The seller hands over the registration certificate and the technical card, with a valid ITV.

Where is ITP paid on a used Mercedes bought in Málaga?

In a private sale, the buyer pays ITP to the Andalusian Tax Agency, based on the car's official value. A dealer sale pays no ITP because the price already includes IVA.

What should I check on a used Mercedes from the Costa del Sol?

A car left for months at a second home may have a weak battery, flat-spotted tyres and sticking brakes. Sun and salt air also call for a look at the paint, rubber seals and underside.
