Question 1

Which Stonic gets the ECO label?

Accepted Answer

The 1.0 T-GDi with 48-volt mild hybrid, introduced with the 2020 update, carries the ECO label. Earlier petrol and diesel Stonics are Euro 6 and carry the C label; the DGT lookup by number plate confirms it for any car.

Question 2

Is there a four-wheel-drive Stonic?

Accepted Answer

No. Every Stonic is front-wheel drive, despite its crossover styling. The slightly higher ride helps on rough tracks and kerbs, but it is not built for snow or real off-road use.

Question 3

What is the Kia Stonic's iMT gearbox?

Accepted Answer

On mild-hybrid versions, Kia's intelligent manual transmission is a manual whose clutch is controlled electronically, so the engine can switch off while coasting. It drives like a normal manual; a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic was the alternative.

Question 4

Does a used Stonic still have Kia's warranty?

Accepted Answer

It may. Kia's seven-year warranty runs from first registration until its term or mileage limit ends, and passes to the buyer if the car was serviced to the manufacturer's schedule. Ask for the registration date and the service book.
