Question 1

Does Kia's warranty carry over to a second-hand Picanto?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Kia's seven-year warranty belongs to the car rather than the owner, and runs from first registration until its term or mileage limit ends. It depends on servicing to the manufacturer's schedule, so ask for the stamped service book or the invoices.

Question 2

Which DGT label does a Kia Picanto get?

Accepted Answer

Petrol Picantos meeting Euro 4 or later, which covers most of them, carry the C label and can enter most Spanish low-emission zones. The DGT's online lookup by number plate shows the label of any individual car.

Question 3

Is a Picanto suitable for motorway journeys?

Accepted Answer

The naturally aspirated 1.0 and 1.2 are happiest in town and on secondary roads; on long motorway runs they rev hard and get noisy. The turbocharged 1.0 T-GDi offered on the sportier trims copes better with motorway speeds.

Question 4

Should I buy a manual or automatic Kia Picanto?

Accepted Answer

The manual is more common and suits such a light car well. The Picanto's automatic options change gear slowly, so take a proper test drive before settling on one.
