Question 1

Can an older diesel Hyundai drive into central Madrid?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the DGT label: cars without one face the strictest limits in Madrid's low-emission zone, while ECO and zero-label cars move most freely. Diesels registered before late 2015 usually carry the B label, so check it by number plate on the DGT website.

Question 2

Does the Hyundai warranty pass to a used buyer?

Accepted Answer

The manufacturer warranty is tied to the car, so a used Hyundai keeps whatever remains of it after a sale. Ask for the service book stamped by the official network, as the warranty depends on the scheduled services.

Question 3

What taxes apply when buying a used Hyundai in Madrid?

Accepted Answer

A private sale pays ITP to the Comunidad de Madrid, worked out from official valuation tables by model and age; at a dealer, VAT is included in the price instead. The annual IVTM road tax is set by each town hall in the region.

Question 4

Which used Hyundai suits driving in Madrid?

Accepted Answer

The i10 and i20 are easy to park, and hybrid or electric versions of the Kona earn the ECO or zero label. The Tucson suits families who often head out on the motorways, and an electric car makes sense with charging at home or at work.
