Question 1

Can any used Hyundai drive in Barcelona's low-emission zone?

Accepted Answer

The ZBE Rondes de Barcelona bars cars without a DGT label on weekdays from 7:00 to 20:00. Petrol Hyundais registered from 2001 and diesels from 2006 have at least the B label, so only older cars are shut out.

Question 2

On a private sale, who collects the transfer tax in Barcelona?

Accepted Answer

The buyer pays the ITP to the Agència Tributària de Catalunya, usually worked out from the official tables of vehicle values rather than the agreed price alone. A sale by a dealer carries no ITP.

Question 3

Can I charge an electric Hyundai in a shared garage?

Accepted Answer

Spanish property law lets an owner install a charging point in their own space in a community car park by notifying the community beforehand; no vote is needed. The installation and the electricity are paid by the owner.

Question 4

Is a hybrid Hyundai worth it in Barcelona traffic?

Accepted Answer

In stop-start traffic the Kona, Ioniq and Tucson hybrids often run on electricity alone, exactly where a petrol car is at its thirstiest. Ask whether the hybrid system was checked at each service.
