Which petrol engine is best in a used Hyundai Kona?

The 1.0 T-GDi is enough for town and mixed driving and is the most common choice. The 1.6 T-GDi suits motorway use or a loaded car, and on first-generation Konas it came with a dual-clutch gearbox.

Which DGT label does a petrol Hyundai Kona get?

A petrol Kona gets the C label, or the ECO label when it is a 48V mild-hybrid version. Check it by number plate on the DGT website, as it decides access to low-emission zones.

What should I check on a used petrol Hyundai Kona?

Direct-injection turbo engines like the T-GDi build up carbon on the intake valves, so look for regular oil changes with the specified oil. Listen for a rough idle on a cold start and watch for warning lights.
