Question 1

Does the Hyundai i10 get the ECO label?

Accepted Answer

Petrol versions carry the C label, while bi-fuel LPG versions are classed as ECO. The label is held on the DGT record for each registration, so you can check it before buying.

Question 2

Is the i10's AMT automatic a good choice?

Accepted Answer

The AMT is a manual gearbox with an automated clutch and shifts, so it pauses between gears more than a conventional automatic. Driven gently in town it is fine; earlier i10s used a traditional four-speed automatic instead.

Question 3

Is the Hyundai warranty transferable?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the manufacturer warranty stays with the car rather than the owner, so a recent i10 may still be covered. Ask for the service record, as the cover depends on servicing having been done on time.

Question 4

Is the i10 big enough for motorway trips?

Accepted Answer

It seats four adults and copes with motorway journeys, though the 1.0 needs revs on hills and when fully loaded. The 1.2 is the better choice if you often leave the city.
