What is the iMT gearbox on the Hyundai Bayon?

The iMT is a manual gearbox whose clutch is operated electronically rather than by a cable or hydraulic line. It lets the 48-volt mild hybrid coast with the engine off, and it drives like a normal manual.

Is a used Hyundai Bayon still under warranty?

Many are, because Hyundai gives its cars in Spain a five-year warranty with no mileage limit, and it passes to the next owner. Ask for the service book, since skipped services can put it at risk.

Which manual Hyundai Bayon has the DGT ECO label?

The 1.0 T-GDi with the 48-volt mild-hybrid system carries the ECO label. The 1.2 MPi and the 1.0 T-GDi without that system carry the C label.

The Bayon, built on the i20 since 2021, takes a manual gearbox with both its engines: a five-speed with the 1.2 MPi and a six-speed with the 1.0 T-GDi. On 48-volt mild hybrids the six-speed is an iMT, whose clutch is worked electronically.
