Question 1

Is there a diesel or electric Hyundai Bayon?

Accepted Answer

No. The Bayon is petrol-only, with the 1.0 T-GDi turbo, often as a 48-volt mild hybrid, or a non-turbo 1.2. Buyers wanting full hybrid or electric power usually look at the larger Kona instead.

Question 2

Which DGT environmental label does a Bayon get?

Accepted Answer

The 48-volt mild hybrid versions carry the ECO label, which eases access to low-emission zones. A Bayon without the mild hybrid system gets the C label. What counts is the DGT register entry, not just the windscreen sticker.

Question 3

Does the Hyundai warranty pass to the next owner?

Accepted Answer

Yes, Hyundai's five-year factory warranty stays with the car, not the owner. It runs from the first registration date, so check that date and ask for a service record that follows Hyundai's schedule.

Question 4

What should I check on the Bayon's dual-clutch automatic?

Accepted Answer

Drive it away from a standstill and in slow traffic: the gearbox should take up smoothly, without judder or hesitation. Ask too whether any gearbox software updates have been applied at a Hyundai workshop.
