Question 1

Which Ford Transit suits which kind of work?

Accepted Answer

The Transit Courier is the smallest, made for deliveries in narrow town centres. The Connect adds load space within car-like dimensions, the Custom is the mid-size choice of most tradespeople, and the full-size Transit comes in several lengths and roof heights.

Question 2

What should I check on a Ford 2.0 EcoBlue diesel?

Accepted Answer

Its timing belt runs in oil, so the specified engine oil and the belt change interval matter more than usual. Ask for receipts for both, and on Euro 6 versions make sure the AdBlue system works without warnings.

Question 3

Can a Ford van enter the low-emission zones in Madrid or Barcelona?

Accepted Answer

That depends on its DGT label rather than the brand. Euro 6 diesels get C, Euro 4 and 5 diesels get B, and older ones get no label at all, which shuts them out of most zones.

Question 4

Is buying a used Ford van from a dealer worth it for the self-employed?

Accepted Answer

A dealer issues an invoice with IVA, which is usually deductible when the van is used for work. A private sale carries ITP instead, set by each autonomous community, and leaves nothing to deduct.
