Actions

Can I drive a used Ford without a DGT label in Madrid?

Increasingly not: Madrid's low-emission zone bars cars without a DGT label from most of the city, with few exceptions. A petrol Ford from 2006 or a diesel from late 2015 carries at least the C label, which is enough to drive in.

Where do I transfer a used Ford bought in Madrid?

The change of ownership is processed by the DGT, online or at the Jefatura Provincial de Tráfico de Madrid, often through a gestor. On a private sale the buyer also pays ITP to the Community of Madrid, which a dealer sale does not carry.

Where can I have a used Ford inspected in Madrid?

Any ITV station in the Community of Madrid can check a car, and a Ford dealer or independent garage can read its service history and fault codes. Ask the seller for the last ITV report, which lists any defects found.
