What automatic gearbox do Cupra cars use?

Petrol and plug-in hybrid Cupras use the DSG dual-clutch gearbox shared across Volkswagen Group, with six or seven speeds. The electric Born and Tavascan drive through a single fixed ratio.

What should I check on a used Cupra DSG?

Ask whether the DSG oil was changed at the intervals in the service plan, and on the test drive feel for judder when pulling away or reversing. Hesitation from a standstill can also point to worn clutches.

Which DGT label does an automatic Cupra get?

It depends on the drive: the electric Born and Tavascan and the plug-in e-HYBRID versions get the zero label, mild-hybrid eTSI versions the ECO label and other petrol DSG models the C label.
