Question 1

Can I have a Cupra serviced at a SEAT workshop?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Official SEAT workshops in Spain also look after Cupra models, and most mechanical parts are shared Volkswagen Group components. An independent garage that knows the group's engines and DSG gearboxes can do the work too.

Question 2

Which DGT label does a used Cupra carry?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the drivetrain. The fully electric Born gets the zero-emissions label, plug-in e-HYBRID versions get zero or ECO depending on their electric range, and petrol versions normally carry the C label.

Question 3

What should I check on a VZ or another high-performance Cupra?

Accepted Answer

Look at tyre and brake wear, since these cars are often driven hard, and ask whether the DSG gearbox has had its oil changes on schedule. Non-original changes to the engine map or exhaust can cause problems at the ITV.

Question 4

Is a used Cupra still under warranty?

Accepted Answer

Recent cars may still have part of the manufacturer's warranty, which passes to the next owner. Check the first registration date and the service record with an official workshop, and ask a dealer what warranty they add to the sale.
